The PERTEX project was successfully presented abroad. On May 27–29, 2026, the University of Copenhagen hosted the international conference "Ancient Landscapes of Textile Production – Interdisciplinary Perspectives," where T. Štolcová presented its current objectives. Furthermore, she established valuable collaborations with leading experts in archaeological textile research.
From May 19 to 22, 2026, our colleagues L. Benediková, G. Březinová, M. Lepiš Valigová, and K. Pieta presented their research at the 25th International CELT&N 2026 Conference, held at the T. G. M. Rakovník Museum, Czech Republic.
At the 6th CSTI 2026 (Conservation Science, Technology and Industry) conference, held on April 20–21, 2026, at Bratislava Castle, T. Štolcová and co-author D. Schaarschmidt presented their research on the unique woollen tapestry from Poprad-Matejovce.
Our colleague V. Mitáš has begun analysing spindle whorls from Late Bronze Age cave settlements. In the photograph, he is holding a biconical spindle whorl from the Praslen cave (c. a. Rybník), Revúca district [April 2026].
Our colleagues from Archeopark Cífer-Pác visited the remarkable "The Prince of Poprad and his Tomb" exhibition on March 13, 2026. Tereza Štolcová gave them a behind-the-scenes look at the research and shared her extensive knowledge of Germanic clothing and textiles.
Loom weights from a settlement site in Nitra (Malý seminár location), unearthed during research in the 1990s, are being re-examined. Currently, experts are re-evaluating and analysing these artefacts from the La Tène period [March 2026].
The newly discovered La Tène graves from Šurany (Nové Zámky distr.) continue to reveal new insights. Researchers are currently analyzing mineralized textile remains found on metal artifacts [February 2026].
